Report on Activities carried out in the Month of May

To: UNESCO Youth Ambassador for the Culture of Peace

In the Month of May, we were able to carry out the following activities:

-         We staged three shows; one took place at Sir Apollo Kaggwa Memorial Primary School, Manyangwa on the 2nd day of the month. The other 2 were held in Kasangati and Makenke Villages on the 22nd and 23rd of the month respectively. These aimed at HIV/AIDS awareness and education on children’s sexual rights. In all, we had and audience 560 pupils at the school and 250 people in the two communities.

Among what was presented were poems, Music, Dance and Drama, and testimonials from HIV infected persons and a few questions about HIV/AIDS, which all enabled us to keep truck of the theme HIV/AIDS and Children’s Sexual Rights.

-         We also held a group talk on the 30th day of the month, which addressed Reproductive Health issues for the adolescents. Participants were youth between 13 and 22 years totaling to 120 youth. 70 females and 50 males.

Content of what was discussed included growth and development and the changes that take place during adolescence, components of adolescent reproductive health and prevention of reproductive health issues.
