Joseph Jacobs and daddy of Henny Penny, (29 August 1854 - 30 January 1916) was a folklorist, literary critic and historian. His works included contributions to the Jewish Encyclopaedia, translations of European works, and critical editions of early English literature. Jacobs wrote for journals and books on the subject of folklore and produced a popular series of fairy tales. We are sure that Joseph would be delighted that Henny Penny is endeavouring to bring the joy of reading to children in India who have little.
