Prior to 2009 we have been giving support in the
Philippines, is as follows. We have been supporting a family on
the Dumpsite, in Navotas area of Manila, for some years now. After
little Alice had her operation for a hare lip and cleft palette, things
really
changed. Because we gave the credit for it to the Church, Alice’s
siblings came in to the Church Community and started getting educated at
the Church School. We supply all the children’s uniforms and shoes. We
are also supporting by helping with the rent of the building. The Church
upper rooms are being used by 4 families, who live there. Each family
has a curtain to divide them from their neighbouring families. Each
family have young children, but there’s always order, amongst the chaos.
So these families are benefiting from our funding.
The fish business is successful. We set it up last year, and the
business is supporting 17 children. Consequently ,the fish business is
paying for the education of 3 more children.
We provide food, and education supplies for the Church School.
The children who live in the Graves, on Manila Bay, are receiving Basic
Literacy training by Jon Jon and Tess’ team, which we are providing
monetary funds for.
In May, a Camping week was arranged for befriending and integrating. Our
efforts helped to provide for the refreshments and programmes, which
were for Mothers and young children. We aim to set up another business,
so people can be self sufficient. It will likely be a fish farm, watch
this space. We can never despise, humble beginnings. Amongst some of our
girls who came off the dump, one is studying to be an accountant, and
another is doing business studies. They wont always be children of the
Dump.....now the World is their Oyster.....
